Visa Requirements

To apply for a visa of any category, the applicant must submit the following documents to the Consular section:

1. A valid foreign (diplomatic, service, ordinary) passport or other identity document recognized as such by the Russian Federation.

The passport should not raise doubts about the authenticity and belonging to its owner, should not have signs of it being tampered with in any way or contain marks, reservations, entries, erasures and corrections etc. that are not certified by the competent authorities of the issuing state.

The expiry date of the passport should be at least six months later than the date of expiry of the visa.

  • In case of entering the Russian Federation for emergency treatment or due to a serious illness or death of a close relative (using an ordinary private visa) the passport must not expire before the expiration of the visa.
  • In the case of a student or work visa, the passport should retain validity for not less than one and a half years from the date of commencement of the visa.

The applicant's passport must have at least one blank page (without stamps) for pasting a Russian visa.

2. Visa application form. The form should be filled in electronically at https://visa.kdmid.ru, and then printed in one copy.

For citizens of a number of states, on the basis of reciprocity, an extended version of the visa application form is filled out (the choice is made automatically depending on the specified citizenship). In this case, the questionnaire should be printed on both sides of one sheet.

3. One photograph 35x45 mm in size (B&W or color) with a clear image of the face from the front without tinted glasses and without a headdress (except for foreign citizens for whom the constant wearing of a headdress is a mandatory attribute of their national or religious affiliation, provided that he or she is depicted in such a headdress in the passport photograph).

4. A Receipt confirming the payment of the consular fee.

Payment is made at the consular department of the Embassy by cash only in Kenyan shillings or US dollars (in accordance with the tariff in force at the time of the application) on the day of submission of the full package of documents.
