Celebration of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War at the United Nations Office at Nairobi
On the occasion of the 74th Anniversary of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kenya and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Kenya have organized a screening of the feature movie “Brest Fortress” on May 14, 2019 at the UN headquarters in Nairobi.
The screening was attended by a large number of staff members of the United Nations Organizations in Nairobi, including UNEP and UN-HABITAT, and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
The 2010 Russian-Belarusian war film “Brest Fortress” recounts the June 1941 heroic defense of the Brest fortress garrison against the Wehrmacht forces in the opening stages of Nazi Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union during World War II.
The film was produced as close as possible to the historical facts under the supervision of the experts of the Brest Fortress Museum in Belarus.
